How to Create Stocking Stitch

Stocking stitch, or stockinette stitch, is the second most basic of stitch patterns and is created by alternating rows of knit and purl stitches. The right side of the fabric has a ‘V’ pattern and the wrong side has a bar pattern.
In this video we will show you how to create stocking stitch. This stitch is used in the Lola Pom Slippers Knitting Kit and the Masley Cushion Cover Knitting Pattern.

Step 1:
Begin by knitting the first row.
Step 2:
When you have finished the first row, purl the next row.
Step 3:
Repeating these two rows forms the stocking stitch pattern.
