Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This statement sets out our commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains.
Our Business
Wool Couture Company is a UK-based small business that designs and sells craft kits and creative products. Our products are primarily sold online and are supplied by a network of UK and international manufacturers and wholesalers.
Our Commitment
Although our annual turnover is below the threshold requiring mandatory reporting under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are committed to operating ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships. We do not tolerate modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, or exploitation in any form.
Supply Chain
Our supply chain consists mainly of suppliers providing craft materials such as yarn, fabric, tools, packaging, and printed instructions. We aim to work with reputable suppliers who share our values and comply with applicable labour laws and regulations.
Due Diligence
To help reduce the risk of modern slavery within our supply chain, we:
- Seek to work with established and reputable suppliers
- Expect suppliers to comply with local employment laws and ethical labour practices
- Review supplier relationships periodically
- Address concerns if any ethical issues are raised
Risk Assessment
As a small business with relatively simple supply chains and a limited number of suppliers, we consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be low. However, we recognise that risks can exist within global supply chains and remain committed to monitoring and improving our practices.
Future Steps
We will continue to review our suppliers and sourcing practices and will take appropriate action should any concerns regarding labour standards arise.
Approval
This statement has been approved by the management of Wool Couture Company and will be reviewed periodically.
