A slip stitch is used at the end of a round of crochet to join your last stitch to the first stitch.

Step 1:
Insert your hook through the 'V' of the first stitch in your round.
Step 2:
Wrap the yarn over your hook, and pull through.
Step 3:
Continue to pull the yarn through the loop on your hook.
Step 4:
You have now closed your round with a slip stitch!
