We know how empowering it is to enable others - to start their own creative projects and tell their own stories.  That’s why we’ve decided to share our customers’ stories* to highlight their aspirations and challenges and share that wonderful sense of accomplishment you get from learning something new.  At Stitch & Story we want to share our love of crafting – encouraging others to tell their own stories and create remarkable memories.

Kathleen Weigelt

Kathleen originally hails from Germany. Her first love is crochet (you can see her beautiful blanket made with S&S The Chunky Wool below) which she (re)started just over a year ago, but by Christmas 2016 had purchased some Stitch & Story kits so she could try knitting. Kathleen has learnt so much in one year, including converting some of our patterns to knit in the round and experimenting with sizes and colour combinations. We love how she’s taken her story beyond the kits themselves and can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

I loooove the Stitch & Story Chunky Wool as it's so soft and fluffy, candy floss for the mind and hands! It helps as well that you see progress very quickly. I'm really glad I started knitting with the S&S wool and kits as I can't imagine it being any easier!

My first item was theMateusz Snood and it was definitely a great starter project. Back in January it took sooo much concentration to knit and purl, knit and purl but who could have known how quickly one can learn to make actual, wearable, lovely knits!

I would have never believed it if someone said the second item you knit is a beanie hat with cabling, and decreases at the top! Following the S&SBig Alps Beanie instructions together with watching theS&S videos made it possible.

The most recent pattern I’ve tried was theBounty Throw and I would call it my favourite to date. It knits up easily and you learn so many different stitches and how they look together. I even converted the Mateusz Snood pattern into a matching cushion cover inDust Pink.

I love the yarn, the chunky lightweight needles and theS&S kits. As a friend of mine said, you feel like you're treating yourself to a pressie when you open that kit, squeeze the wool and check everything that comes with it. And opening a large box full off wool packs is just as exciting!
