Finishing

Sewing up

Attach head to body

  1. Thread yarn tail from the head onto needle.
  2. Line up the unclosed opening of the head with the body and sew the two parts together.

Attach mitts to body

  1. Thread the yarn tail from the mitt onto the needle.
  2. Using whip stitch attach the mitt to the body between the 3rd round from the neck. The mitt should cover the 3rd and 6th rounds of the body.
  3. Repeat on the other side to attach second mitt.

Attach buttons to body

  1. Attach the first button to the body 3 rounds below the neck using whip stitch, ensuring that the button is centred. The button should cover three rounds of the body.
  2. Skip 3 rounds and attach the second button, ensuring it is covering 3 rounds and aligned to the first button, using whip stitch.

Attach scarf to body

Wrap the scarf around the neck of the snowman, ensuring that the front of the scarf is a little bit longer. Then secure the scarf with a stitch where the scarf crosses.

Snowman face

  1. Attach the first eye between the 4th round from the top and 6th round. The eye should cover 3 stitches.
  2. Skip 4 stitches and attach the second eye according to the 1st step.
  3. The mouth will be the width of 3 stitches and the height of 1 round. To get the curve of the mouth, place a stitch in the middle of the vertical line from the round below.
  4. Attach the hat on to the top of the snowman using whip stitch, ensuring it is at a slight angle.
  5. Weave in any yarn tails.
