We know how empowering it is to enable others - to start their own creative projects and tell their own stories. That’s why we’ve decided to share our customers’ stories* to highlight their aspirations and challenges and share that wonderful sense of accomplishment you get from learning something new. At Stitch & Story we want to share our love of crafting – encouraging others to tell their own stories and create remarkable memories.
Amra Hurley, a Freelance makeup artist from East London, started coming to our knitting workshops** back in April 2016, having previously met Jenny and Jen at a knitting show. Amra had just learnt to knit at her workplace and wanted somewhere she could continue her passion. She loved Stitch & Story's easy to follow patterns and beautiful merino yarn and decided to join the knitting workshops. Amra started on easy patterns such as scarves and hats before venturing into almost the entire collection as she grew in confidence knitting throws, cushion covers and sweaters!
I never really knew how to knit until I joined a knitting club at work a few years ago. I was having a difficult time personally and knitting gave me a chance to escape and to be creative and have fun!
Meeting Jen and Jen, joining their workshops and following their patterns has made knitting a lot easier than the traditional patterns available out there and they have made knitting trendy again! Knitting has added personal moments which I can share with family and friends such as knitting a baby blanket for the birth of my nephew and sending relatives headbands and hats to Germany and Australia. Stitch & Story has made me fall in love with knitting, Jen and Jen are my knitting family now, can’t wait to see what they do next and for me to keep knitting!
Amra still regularly attends Stitch & Story workshops and has progressed onto new projects.
Would you like to join Amra at one of our workshops? Perfect for some modern knitter knatter - whether you’re new to knitting or looking for company or advice while completing that knitting project.
